Who Are These Trick Or Treaters In June?
Agility For Goats
The boys in the 4H Goat Club that I lead have been training the goats to follow them over bridges and ramps. They do not touch the goat at any time and must get the goats to follow their instructions with food and a 'clicker'.
After all of the goat judging was done we enjoyed barbequed hamburgers and hot dogs. A special thanks to Derek and Alexis for their wonderful cooking.
The 4H achievement day certificates and ribbons were given out in a year end presentation at our farm for all of the various projects. There was over 40 people in attendance. Jordan got a ribbon in recognition for the most 4H projects completed. All and all it was a good day.
Thank You Jill
Jill drove all the way from Wood Islands to judge the four goats. The boys all looked pretty smart in their white shirts and blue jeans with their clean goats.
It was difficult to get someone to come and judge for 4H Achievement Day and it was great to have Jill give the boys encouraging words for all of the effort they had put in over last 9 weeks.
Being the 4H goat club leader, I was quite proud of all of my boys and the goats.

Goat People
I had the pleasure to meet Steve Considine who is the
Dairy Manager from Redwood Hill Farm in Sebastopol, California. Steve manages one of the bigger goat dairy operations in the US. They milk 300 goats and process 30,000 gallons of milk per day from other farms. Redwood Hill Farm makes award winning artisanal yogurt and cheese. I would love to see it and taste it some day!

Waiting And Ready
All The Way From Pittsford, NY
They ran out of soap in Pittsford so Mary and Trevor thought they would come to PEI and visit the goats and get some goat's milk soap. Good luck Trevor on your new teaching career. I hope all of your students are excellent learners because I know you will be an excellent teacher. Have a safe trip back to NY.

Mother And Son
Lorreen is from Ottawa and came to visit her son who is from Charlottetown and see her granddaughter graduate. She gave up an opportunity to tour a soap shop with her friends in United States to come to Prince Edward Island. Lorreen was quite thrilled to have a tour of our shop and see how we make our soap.
Wayne took a friendship bear soap home (they are free for repeat customers who are bringing someone new to the shop).

Goats Attract Great People
I have noticed that interesting and nice people love goats. Although loving and curious, of all the farm animals I have ever had, goats have definitely been the most trying on my patience. So if someone says that they love goats, you just know they have a big heart to put up with all the naughtiness and enjoy the affection goats have to give.
