The Whittleton's

Long time no see. The Whittleton's first visited us in 2004 when our soap shop consisted of an 8'x8' garden shed and came back and saw us again this week. It's great to see you again!

Helen and Greg

Helen and Greg from Brampton, Ontario stopped in to the store a few times while on vacation. It only took a few minutes of talking to Greg to find out how passionate
he is about teaching children and physical eduction. He even enrolled Helen in his vision of reaching as many children as they can. I feel all his and her students are fortunate to have two great teachers that put their heart and soul into their work.

Sara the Painter

Sara came to volunteer for a week at our farm. She and Katie painted 4 huge paintings on 4 x 8 sheets of plywood. We are going to put the sheets up so the goats can stick their heads though.

Great job Sara and Katie!!!

Adaluz from El Salvador

Now, I think I should get a map of the world to put on the wall in the soap shop so people can put in a pin to show where they come from. In the process of running a soap shop I get to meet people from all over the world and better yet they take my soap home with them.
Thank you Adaluz for stopping in to the shop. Enjoy your soap!

Campers that the mosquito did not carry away!

The White's who are not really that white stayed with us, camping in one of our cabins. Chris tried our Great Outdoor Spray and it kept the mosquitoes away from his yummy mosquito blood. Lynn's blood is not so yummy since the mosquitoes do not bother her. Lucky Lynn!

Birget and Herbert from Germany

Birget is a teacher in Germany and has taken a year off to tour Canada. She and her husband, Herbert, stopped into the store and took lots of pictures. We felt like we were in a photo shoot. Sara from Ottawa who was volunteering here at the time is also in the picture

You never know who will pull into the driveway. A group of 10 cyclists met up in Moncton and are now touring the Maritimes. They are camping along the way, as you can see from all the stuff they are hauling. They stopped in to buy soap and cream for their mosquito bites. Bowan from Ontario, Camille from Quebec, Miori from Quebec, Eve from Quebec, Ralaelle from Quebec, David from Massachusetts, Mireille from Quebec, and Genevive from Quebec.

Erik, Jack and Ellen

Erik, Jack and Ellen

Erik, Jack and Ellen were so kind to stand in front of the goats to have their picture taken. If you stand there too long the goats will start nudging you for oats.

From left Amy, Buttercup and Jason

Amy and Jason stayed with us for a few days. They are friends and relations of Melanie, who worked with us in 2003 when we sold soap from the small garden shed.

Amy and Paul

It was a start to a very hot and busy day when Amy and Paul visited the store. They both enjoyed the presentation on how we make soap. By the size of Amy's bag they will be clean for a long time or their friends will be clean. Thanks for stopping in and stay clean!

The Barn is Done and Alexis and Derek are off.

Here are the ladies first coming into the barn.

The barn is now green with white trim. The inside is white with green trim. Derek and Alexis stayed here for two weeks and worked on the barn full time. The ladies (doe goats) stayed outside for the two weeks. Last night we let them in to their newly renovated home. I think they were very happy running around checking everything out. I know I’m very happy with the new set-up

Take Time To Smell The Flowers

A friend emailed me the other day with a saying, “take time to smell the flowers while you weed". I have not had much time to weed lately so I was missing the foxgloves blooming until a customer, Melissa from London, pointed them out. Here they are in all their glory! Thanks Melissa for making me take the time to smell the flowers.

Day 5 Of Painting

Look at the barn! Doesn't it look great? No mistaking where the doors are now!

We made some new products yesterday. One of the products is an "After Sun Cream". It has Grapefruit Essential Oil and smells heavenly.

The Buddy System

I find it amazing how mothers and daughters sleep beside each other. Eden and Gerty are closest to the barn and Dianna and Hanna are closest to the camera. All of the goats are doing really well considering they have not been in the barn during all this rain. We have been renovating the barn to make it bigger and better for them and me.

Day 4 Of Painting

Derek and Alexis came on the 23rd of June and they have had 1 sunny day so far. The barn painting is moving along well despite the weather. I hope they get it all done or it might have to stay like that until fall.

All Together

They fight and push each other away from the food and bite when they do not get their way. But when it comes time to sleep they are all together.

More Bath Frizzies

Lindsay and Rebecca from Charlottetown stopped in for a demonstration and we made Peach Bath Frizzies together. It was a lot of fun for everyone.

First Bath Frizzies Workshop

Making Bath Frizzies has been a big success. Dylan, Julia and Jessie (in pink) all had fun making the frizzies and watching them fizzle in the water.

So Much Rain!

The store was busy all day and it rained all day.
Shelly from Saint John, New Brunswick did not let the rain dampen her spirits though. She was here to enjoy the Island rain or shine. Way to go Shelly! See you again.
